Frequently asked questions

What are agent skills?

Folders of instructions and scripts that a coding agent reads when it needs them. Kapso's skills teach it to send WhatsApp messages and templates, handle WhatsApp webhooks, build workflows, and debug deliveries. They use the open Agent Skills format and are still in alpha.

Which agents work with them?

Any agent that supports the Agent Skills format, through npx skills add. Claude Code and Codex can also install the Kapso plugin, which adds the skills and the Kapso MCP server.

Do I need an API key?

Not if the Kapso CLI is installed and you're logged in. Otherwise set KAPSO_API_KEY. With the plugins, you can also connect your Kapso account from the agent.

Should I use skills or MCP?

Both. Skills teach your agent how Kapso works and which commands to run, and the MCP server gives it live tools against your project. The plugin installs both.
